JOURNALING WITH CREATIVE RETREAT MONTHLY KITS
Hello friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! I am sharing this page that I created using the December Faith Art Box from Creative Retreat.
This page was very simple, fun and it turned out beautiful. To start, I simply tore a piece of copier paper in half to create a jagged edge to use as a mask to mask off the bottom of the page that I wanted to keep white. Then I used Distress Ink in Faded Jeans and Black Soot to create a night sky effect. I found the adorable snowflakes at the Dollar Tree. They are foam stickers and worked perfectly with this project. I adhered them to the top of the page, and then I used my December Faith Art Box from Creative Retreat to create the stamped words and added some of the heart stickers that come in the kit.
I found the red tag in the clearance Christmas section at Walmart a day or so after Christmas, so check them out and see if they have any fun leftover items for cheap that you can incorporate in your winter journaling themes.
I then added my own journaling to the bottom, along with some black polka dot washi that I had in my stash. To finish off I added some white paint splatters to the blue sky and some black splatters across the white to add some visual interest. I used the watercolor set from Illustrated faith to get some paint onto my brush and just tapped the wet paint where I wanted some splatter. Any watercolors would work, or you could even add some water to acrylic paint or Distress Ink to get the same effect.
Ladies, I love the Creative Retreat kits. I sign up for the automatic shipment every month and get a discount by doing so. The price of the kits are so much more reasonable than some other kits out there, so even with shipping, I still pay less than most other kits. I am not affiliated with Creative Retreat at all, I just want to help spread the word of these reasonable, cute kits and that wonderful company.
In addition, the founder of Creative Retreat takes a portion of each sale and gives to charities. It’s a win/win!
I hope you enjoyed this process!
